AT&T Country Deep Tour with David Nail.

Hey y’all, JenB, host of Red Dirt Nights here. I recently had the opportunity to attend the Country Deep Tour, courtesy of AT&T U-verse. The concert was at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City. I must say, if there’s a country tour to keep a look out for, The Country Deep Tour featuring Missouri native David Nail is definitely the one to check out in your town.

When I heard the show was at The Uptown Theater, I was immediately sold. This is one of my personal favorite venues in the Kansas City area. The historic turn of the century décor, ornate woodwork and the brightly colored pillars lining the lower level are so beautiful. It is a must to catch a show at this theater.

When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff at the door. We proceeded to snap a few pictures and spoke with some of the very personable AT&T reps before entering the concert hall itself. Upon entering, the show opener, Sam Hunt was preforming his version of Keith Urban’s “Cop Car,” which I later found out he co-wrote. There was a good deal of crowd participation, swaying, and cell phones in the air, which really set the mood for the remainder of the show. He was a very energetic performer and was definitely easy on the eyes, as well (in case you ladies were wondering.) This was my 1st time seeing Sam Hunt live, but as an up and coming artist, I’m sure we’ll be hearing more from him in the months to come.

Now moving on to the headlining performer of the evening, David Nail’s entire performance was quite energetic, passionate and heartfelt. He played a few songs off of his new album “I’m a Fire” which was released March 3rd. His warm voice and raw emotion really seemed to shine through on his more popular hits like “Let it Rain,” “Red Light” and my personal favorite “Whatever She’s Got.” David was really connected with his home state crowd and made us feel like part of his performance.  Mr. Nail is new age artist with an old down home country feel and most definitely not a show that any true country music fan should miss!

Needless to say, we had an excellent time at the concert. Check the remaining show dates to see if the AT&T U-verse Country Deep Tour is coming to your town. You won’t be disappointed. It’s definitely JenB approved.
